Many would argue that Woody Allen’s heydays are now behind him. You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stanger, Allen’s latest movie serves only to emphasise this fact. However, with masterpieces such as Annie Hall, Manhattan, and others, Allen’s devotees are, and quite rightly so, a forgiving crowd. Although no where near Allen’s best works, You Will [...]  I doubt such a scandalous pair as Jack Abramoff, manipulator of politicians, and Michael Scanlon, his collaborator, will ever come across as funny to the public. Kevin Spacey’s eerie twist on humour casts a dark shadow on “Casino Jack”. Perhaps that is due to its proximity to our lives, with his illegal stunts on Capitol [...] In “The Fighter,” Mark Wahlberg portrays real life scrapper “Irish” Micky Ward who was a fighter in the early 1990s in the welterweight division. Micky is the half brother of Dicky Eklund, played by Christian Bale, who had some real success boxing. In fact, Eklund is considered the “Pride of Lowell Massachusetts” because he once knocked [...] Megamind is an animated superhero parody that is more for the adult audience than it is for children. Children will certainly miss all of the pop culture references, as there is a Marlon Brando impersonation, Obama jibes, Karate Kid references, and just loads of lampooning intended for older audiences. Brad Pitt plays the classic American Superhero [...] “Hereafter” manages to do something that is very rare in filmdom, and that is to explore our concepts of the afterlife without trying to present any conclusions. It’s a movie that makes you wonder, which may or may not mean that it’s a wonderful movie, but in this case it really is. Directed by Clint Eastwood [...] Conviction, the new movie directed by Tony Goldwyn and starring Hilary Swank has familiar plot formulas for the actress. She once again finds herself playing the part of a firm set female forced into becoming more than what she started, due to hardship and ill fate. In this film, based upon a true story, she finds [...] “Conviction” is the latest film out starring Hilary Swank. Swank plays a real life role as the sister of a convicted killer convinced of her brother’s innocence. She is so convinced that her beliefs change the course of her own life, as well as her brother’s. Swank read the movie’s script by Pamela Gray and signed [...] Fans of the Transformers movies will be distressed to learn that there has been another accident on the set. Filming in Washington D.C. was temporarily suspended when a police SUV roared onto the set and crashed into the little yellow Camero known as Bumblebee. Both vehicles were in chase mode, Bumblebee on script and the cop [...] Director Dante has quite a few teen thrillers under his belt, which is why the fact that his newest film is able to present the perfect atmosphere without giving into the gimmicks that haunt many cheesy teen movies. Add in the fact that the film is show in 3D with wit and sparingly and you [...] Wall Street 2 is a belated sequel due to the fact that it is being released 23 years after the first film hit the big screen and was supposed to actually see a release date earlier in the year instead of now.
