Adele is rumoured to be the latest in a long list of performers to sing a James Bond theme song, so we can look forward to hearing her in a cinema before too long. It was reported in the magazine Showbiz411 that she had been chosen to perform the song ‘Skyfall’ for the film which goes by the same name, and recently she was seen going to Abbey Road studios, we are assuming to record the song.
In April 2011 Adele told The Jonathon Ross Show she was going to the studio to record a ‘theme’, thereby possibly letting the news slip. Ross laughed then started to hum the Bond music, to which the audience and Adele herself laughed. She then stopped, realising what she had said, saying she had given something away. Nothing else has been mentioned about the Skyfall theme since then until these new reports.
The film is due to be released in the UK on October 26, yet MGM and Sony have not yet announced who the singer of the theme song is to be, which is adding fuel to the rumours. The singer is coming down from the huge success of ‘21’ which won Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year Grammy Awards.
‘Skyfall’, which is the third Bond film to star Daniel Craig, hits the theatres in the United States of America on the 9th of November will also star Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Berenice Marlohe.
