Boardwalk Empire Season 4 preview

After the shocking events that were uncovered in the last season of Game of Thrones, fans will soon be relieved to have a new Sunday night distraction. Boardwalk Empire returns with its fourth season, and what promises to be one of the best yet.

The new teaser doesn’t exactly give much away, but what it does show is that the storyline will feature some of the shows favourite familiar faces – Richard Harrow is just one of them.

In Season 3 it was unclear whether Harrow would return so fans will be rejoicing that he’s back on their screens. As for where he’s going to end up, that much is unclear as again, the trailer gave very little away, but there is some speculation that he could end up employed by Nicky Thompson.

There are also two new notable faces being welcomed into the thick of things this season; Ron Livingstone and Jeffrey Wright.

New faces, new drama

Not much is yet known about Ron Livingston’s new character – blink throughout the trailer and you may actually miss him. Fresh from out of town, the wealthy businessman wastes no time in getting acquainted with Gillian Darmody. As any long term fan will know, this is unlikely to be a relationship built to last as Gillian’s partners have an uncanny way of getting suspiciously disposed of.

Jeffrey Wright’s character “Valentin Narcisse” is a philanthropist who is hoping to team up with Nucky Thompson. However, this isn’t set to be an easy task for the doctor after Nucky’s previous dealings with Gyp Rosetti.

It will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic these two new characters will bring to the hit Boardwalk Empire HBO show. They aren’t the only new faces to pop up this season either; there are set to be quite a few powerhouse star guests making some interesting appearances.

More blood than ever before

Let’s face it, one of the main reasons we watch this cult gangster drama is for the blood and gore. The new season trailer teases us with a glimpse of an even bloodier battle than before. If there was any doubt then it’s confirmed at the end of the trailer when the voice of Nucky closes the teaser with “the only thing you can count on is blood.”

Boardwalk Empire Season 4 premieres next month, but if you can’t wait until then, why not remind yourself of what happened in Season 3?
