Dustin Hoffman to direct in UK

In order to direct some of the best acting talent in Britain Dustin Hoffman is planning on getting behind the camera. This summer he plans to shoot in the UK, an independent movie, said the 73 year old actor. His plan is to move to the UK in six months time he said at a King Fu Panda 2 premiere in which he voices Shifu.

The movie will star Maggie Smith and Tom Courtenay and is titled Quartet, Hoffman explained excitedly. To be shot on location in Buckinghamshire the movie is about two opera singers that are now retired. He will not be belting out arias, unless of course it is to call out action or cut.

He also had planned to be acting with another British great, Sir Anthony Hopkins in The Song of Names. It did work out he said He called the actor to see if he wanted to work on a project Hoffman was working on but the call went straight to voice mail.
