Although most of us have been viewing their relationship, or if you’d rather, “courtship”, since it began. We know what happens and what doesn’t happen. But someone feels a film is appropriate of the years preceding the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
Deadline announced that Nico Evers-Swindell, the star of Edge of Darkness, has already agreed to a deal to play Prince William. Ben Cross from Star Trek will star as Prince Charles. The script is being presented by Nancey Silvers and the movie directed by Mark Rosman. There isn’t a whisper yet on who will get the part of Catherine Middleton.
It is an American film, and this means you can count on an adequate level of dramatisation. It may even take the form of displaying Kate in the situation of a student over burdened with debts, instead of the St. Andrews woman she is from the middle class. Just keep in mind that this is not a documentary, but a movie based on the couple.
Shooting begins February 10th and the release will parallel the date of the wedding in April.
Anyway, in case you’d forgotten, these will probably some key moments in the script; Middleton wears see-through dress at a charity fashion show, Prince William finally notices her; Prince William decides to put army training first, dooming the relationship and leading to a split; couple get back together, Middleton quits job in fashion; couple goes to Africa on Safari and Prince William pops the questions; blah blah blah.
I don’t think I’ll be called in as script advisor, but filming starts on 10 Feb and the film is due to premiere close to the couple’s wedding date of 29 April.
