Alexandre Aja is set to release the newest thriller to feature killer fish aptly titled Piranha 3D, which as expected will be a 3D film packed to the maximum with gory details and eye popping scenes.
In fact, if the graphic and sharply shot trailer is an accurate representation of the film, there are bound to be plenty of large gapping mouth fish swimming at your face throughout the movie, which should effectively add to the thriller aspect of the film.
The horror thriller is a remake of the original 1978 Piranha with the new script written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton who are known for the Saw series.
The plot is simple enough, as it revolves around the placid waters of Lake Victoria where schools of piranhas are suddenly unleashed after a tremor in the bottom of the lake forcing a group of strangers to work together so that they do not become fish food for the new residents of the lake.
In charge of saving her family and thousands of vacationers (or at least those who have not already fallen prey to the piranhas, which judging by the trailer will be a lot) is Sheriff Julie Forester played by Elizabeth Shue.
Other stars in the film who likely make up Shue’s on screen family and her hoard of new friends are Jerry O’Connell, Ving Rhames, Adam Scott, and Jessica Szohr.
