Red carpet event to celebrate Alton Towers new 4D cinema

In order to celebrate the new 4D cinema opening soon at Alton Towers, a red carpet event will be held. The new 150 seat theatre will allow thrill seekers to experience the film experience from almost every angle as it is outfitted with a 3D film screen, water sprays, blasts of bubbles, air, and snow, and moving chairs to take the experience to the next level.

The opening feature film will allow families to taste adventure first hand by travelling along with Captain Scabb as he searches for the Skull Rock treasure. Throughout the film audiences will be surrounded by eerie mist while riding over the large waves and feeling a light spray of the sea in their face. The film without the special effects has already received the Stuttgart Film Festival’s Best Children’s Animated Film award.

Stephen Lorton, the commercial director of Paultons Park, explained that 4D cinema is a great way to enhance the theatre for the upcoming 2013 season. Lorton continued to say that their goal is always to improve people’s experiences at the theme park and that 4D cinema is a great indoor entertainment option for all ages. The 4D cinema will officially open on March 23rd.
