Release date of Les Miserables put back to Christmas Day

Universal Pictures have recently announced that they have changed the release date for the new musical production, Les Miserables. The initially thought that they would be releasing the film on 14 December, however they have changed this date to Christmas Day, in order to have the advantage of releasing on the festive date.

It is thought that they’ve made this move because other films which were expected to be launched on that day which are particularly notable, such as The Great Gatsby and Life of Pi, are no longer being released then and have had their release dates pushed forward, and back, respectively.

There are many notable films that are being released this December including Jack Reacher, Parental Guidance, Guilt Trip, and Unchained, the new movie from Quentin Tarantino.

It seems as if this is a very competitive month to release a film, but Universal Pictures seem confident that they are going to be able to pull off a successful release. It seems as if the end of this year is going to be a particularly good and for filmgoers.
